Canola Oil

Canola refers to a cultivar of either Rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) or field mustard (Brassica campestris L. or Brassica Rapa var.).   The name "canola" was derived from "Canadian oil, in reference to a low acid" in 1978 genetically modified rapeseed which is sometimes referred to as Rapeseed 00.

A product known as LEAR (for low erucic acid rapeseed) derived from cross-breeding of multiple lines of Brassica juncea may also be referred to as canola oil.

Canola oil is almost guaranteed to be genetically modified and its seeds are used to produce edible oil for consumption by humans if nothing better is available.

In massage;  canola oil can be used if you run out of other massage oil, but is not generally recommended.
