Knowing body, mind and soul starts somewhere
A high school level of knowledge of the body and its parts is sufficient to begin learning to massage. What's more important is to be able to feel and respond to the different textures of the body.
Gentleness and getting feedback are key in delivering a good massage and in all massage you are squeezing and pressing into the soft tissues of the muscles and very gently sliding over the bones, so you learn by touch where the bony surfaces are and not press hard onto them.
With feeling you can follow the muscles with comfortably firm pressure and adjust that pressure to the persons comfort.
