Headaches are very common and the reasons are many
A headache or cephalalgia is pain anywhere in the region of the head or neck. Headaches are one of the first symptoms of any unwellness and if headaches persist for more than a day, medical advice is recommended.
The actual pain is caused by disturbances of the pain-sensitive structures around the brain, or it may radiate from the neck, chest, shoulders, digestive or reproductive systems although the brain tissue itself is not sensitive to pain because it does not have pain receptors. There are nine areas of the head and neck which sense pain, they are; the cranium (the periosteum of the skull), muscles, nerves, arteries and veins, subcutaneous tissues, eyes, ears, sinuses and mucous membranes.
Headaches are a non-specific symptom and may have many possible causes
One of the most common causes is dehydration, and other common causes are congestion are toxic overload, stress, eye strain, work, worry or anxiety, but it may be physical and related to or caused by muscular or skeletal stress to the neck, shoulders or back which relates to posture. It may relate to disagreeable food which may or may not include stomach or digestive tract pain. Another common cause is withdrawal from any addictive substance, it may be coffee or any food additive.
The first and most sensible option is to drink a litre of fresh water and avoid anything sweet or containing artificial colours or flavours. Then if it does not dissipate within an hour, consider other causes and this is where most people resort to analgesics such as paracetamol.

Massage to the upper back, arms, neck, shoulders, head and face often provides significant relief.
Reflexology and completion with a nice head and facial can do wonders.

Other treatments may include fasting or a detox diet to reduce toxic overload and the person will generally feel better. Regular full body massages and yoga help to relax and heal.
